A lifelong musician, born and raised in Troy, Ohio, CC Snyder attended Bowling Green State University, majoring in Choral Music Education. He studied conducting with RD Mathey and Mark S. Kelly. While attending BGSU, he performed with the BG Men's Chorus, Collegiate Chorale, Summer Tour Chorale, A Cappella Choir, multiple opera productions, and the Falcon Marching Band.  His diverse musical background includes numerous years of involvement with Drum Corps International, competing with Northern Aurora Drum & Bugle Corps, and instructing multiple groups in brass and marching.  He also served as the Assitant Music Director and Staff Accompanist for multiple musicals at BGSU.

 

It was during his time in the BG Men’s Chorus that CC was exposed to barbershop as an art form.  He sang in 2 different varsity quartets, including his first-ever competitive quartet, Exit 181, which placed 9th in the BHS International College Contest in Anaheim.​  He had the honor of serving the BG Men's Chorus as their Assistant Director for three years.  

 

CC is a founding member of the Voices of Harmony and the NorthWest Ohio Chapter it represents. He has served in a leadership role since the chapter's inception, serving as Vice-President of Music & Performance four times and once as President.  At the end of 2009, CC was hired as director and has since led the Voices of Harmony to multiple medals in the Johnny Appleseed District and an appearance at the BHS International Chorus Contest in Charlotte, NC.  He was awarded the JAD Director of the Year for 2019.  He has competed in multiple quartets, including Parental Guidance Suggested, 3+1, 4 Star, Prototype, and Blue Rhino, earning multiple medals at the district level.  He currently sings with his wife and two sons in Snyder University.  ​

 

His involvement in barbershop has extended beyond the chapter level. He has been active in leadership on the Johnny Appleseed District Board of Directors, serving as a Board Member at Large, Director of Marketing, Director of Technology & Communications, and Executive Vice President. He has managed the JAD website for the last 8 years, currently serves as District President, and was awarded the Johnny Appleseed District Barbershopper of the Year for 2023.

 

CC and his wife Chrissy live in Lebanon, Ohio, with their four children: Ashton, Chase, Cate, and Cara.
