Become a Member of
The Voices of Harmony
The Voices of Harmony is growing and welcoming new members all year round. If you are interested in singing with us, we welcome you to audition and officially join the ranks of VOH!
To start the audition process:
Come to a few rehearsals to join us on the risers and see if it's a good fit. We have multiple books of our music available for guests to sing from.
During the first or second visit, our director will do a simple vocal analysis with you at the piano to hear your range and tone to best find your part and balance in the chorus.
You may begin auditioning as soon as you're ready, usually after 5 rehearsals.
To audition:
You will learn and record yourself singing "Nobody Wants You When You're Down and Out" along with the chorus. This will be critiqued by the music team for correct words, notes, and general vocal tone. Sheet music will be provided to you and you can stream learning tracks using the player on this page.
You may repeat the recording and evaluation process as many times as you'd like until you've passed.
Once you've passed, the last step is to apply for membership with the Barbershop Harmony Society and pay annual dues. Then, you will officially be a member of The Voices of Harmony!
Membership:
The chorus is most successful with year-round commitments from members. This includes participation in weekly rehearsals, seasonal community performances, and competitions.
